How Push Works

Overview

Push sends selected generated test cases into your Jira project as issues. With Xray configured, you can also create a Test Set and/or Test Execution and associate the new tests.

The Push drawer is organized into three steps: Destination, Configuration, and Review — with a sticky footer for the confirm action.

Destination

• Confirm the connected Jira site and target project key.
• Choose the issue type used for each test case (often Test when Xray is installed).
• Select which generated cases to include. Deselected cases are skipped.

Configuration

Test Set

Optionally create a Test Set that groups the new tests. Edit the summary before you confirm. Requires valid Xray credentials.

Test Execution

Optionally create a Test Execution linked to the new tests. Edit the summary in the drawer before confirming.

Review and confirm

1. Check destination, selected count, and optional Xray options.
2. Confirm push from the drawer footer.
3. Wait for the run to finish. Do not close the drawer mid-run if you want to see live results.

Results

After push completes, the drawer shows created issue keys, optional Test Set / Test Execution keys, and any warnings (for example when Xray steps were skipped).

• Successful creates include links or keys you can open in Jira.
• Partial success is possible: some tests created, Xray grouping skipped.
• Failures usually point to permissions, project key, issue type, or credentials — see Troubleshooting.
